  • What changes are taking place with Humana Military Healthcare Services, Inc. (TRICARE), that impact my patient relationship with Women’s Health & Wellness—Women’s Care Florida?

 

Our mission of providing effective, quality women’s health care to the community we serve is one we take very seriously.  Serving the military is a crucial component of this mission.

Unfortunately, Women’s Health & Wellness—Women’s Care Florida is not currently participating with Humana Military Healthcare Services, Inc. (TRICARE). As a result, we will be considered out-of-network, effective December 1, 2018, at 12:01 a.m.

  • What do you recommend I do?
    • Contact Sheree Jones, TRICARE network development manager, at 817-521-2511 to insist on our continued participation as a participating provider in both TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Select.
    • In the meantime, we recommend that you verify the out-of-network benefits available under your TRICARE plan. This termination may result in higher out-of-pocket expenses to you. You can verify these benefits by calling TRICARE Customer Service at 1-800-444-5445.
    • Call your physician’s office if you need any help. Please discuss this with us at your next appointment.

 

  • What happens if I am pregnant?
  • If you are a Prime member who established your obstetric care with us prior to December 1, 2018, then we would be happy to continue seeing you through your post-partum care. Our office will accept claim assignment from TRICARE and your obstetric care will be covered under your OB Global Authorization.
  • If you are a Select member who established your obstetric care with us prior to December 1, 2018, then we would be happy to continue seeing you through your post-partum care. Our office will accept claim assignment from TRICARE and we can continue your obstetric care.
  • For those members who were unable to establish obstetric care with us prior to December 1, 2018, please note we are considered a nonnetwork provider with TRICARE. We recommend that you establish care with another obstetrician in our community.

 

 

  • What happens if I am in an active course of treatment?

 

    • If you are a Prime member who obtained a referral to see us prior to December 1, 2018, then we would be happy to honor the referral and continue with your scheduled appointment. Our office will accept claim assignment from TRICARE, and your care will be covered under your referral.  
    • If you are a Select member who established care with us prior to December 1, 2018, then we would be happy to continue seeing you through the completion of your treatment. Our office will accept claim assignment from TRICARE, and we can continue your care.
    • For those members who were unable to obtain a referral or establish care with us prior to December 1, 2018, please note we are considered a nonnetwork provider with TRICARE. We recommend that you establish care with another provider in our community.

 

  • Will I be able to continue my care with Women’s Health & Wellness—Women’s Care Florida?
    As noted above, if you are covered under the TRICARE Select health plan with out-of-network benefits, we may be able to continue to provide care to you, but this may result in higher out-of-pocket expenses.

 

  • How much will it cost me to be out of network?

Out of network costs vary by plan. We recommend you call TRICARE Customer Service at
1-800-444-5445 to inquire on out of network benefits that are available to you.

 

  • Do I have to reschedule my next appointment?
    Depending on specific out-of-network benefits and your financial responsibility as a patient, you may decide to reschedule future appointments.

 

  • Is Women’s Care Florida going to have a contract with TRICARE in the future?
    Please know that Women’s Care Florida will always welcome future contract discussions with TRICARE. Your input to TRICARE is greatly appreciated. Please make sure your physician’s office has your email address on record to keep you fully informed.
